Tineco Carpet One Cruiser Review – A Premium Deep-Cleaning Powerhouse

The Carpet One Cruiser is the new premium corded carpet washer released this year by renowned smart home appliance brand Tineco priced at $999 AUD. Combining Tineco’s signature iLoop sensor and self-cleaning mode with new features including heated carpet drying (“PowerDry Technology”) and bi-directional motorised wheels (which Tineco calls its “Smooth Power” technology), it’s designed to offer a deep, user-friendly carpet cleaning experience at home.

What’s in the Box

  • Carpet One Cruiser carpet washer
  • Accessory hose with 2-in-1 nozzle (ideal for upholsteries, stairs, and tight spaces)
  • Deep cleaning solution and pre-treat formula (for more stubborn spills/stains)
  • Docking base
  • Cleaning tool

Design and Build

The Cruiser has a thoughtfully engineered design featuring the “SpaceAdapt” water tank system, where the clean and dirty water are separated by a transparent partition inside a single tank. A flexible rubber base (acting like a bladder-like structure) expands and contracts to maximise space efficiency as clean water is dispensed and dirty water collected. This compact tank is repositioned at the base atop the brush head as well instead of the handle, which keeps the weight off the handle, making it a lot easier to move around during use. However, this lower and bulkier base also means it can’t easily reach under low-clearance furniture like sofas, coffee tables, or TV stands.

The “Smooth Power” motorised wheels help propel the cleaner forward and backward. You can adjust the assistance level between low, medium, and high depending on your preference or the size of the area being cleaned.

There’s also a simple but handy cord management system, with hooks on the upper and lower sections of the handle to let you wrap and store the power cord neatly when not in use.

Tineco Carpet One Cruiser

Overall, while a bit on the bulky side, the Cruiser’s design looks sleek and modern, and Tineco clearly hasn’t cut any corners on build quality. The machine feels solid, durable, and genuinely high-end.

Key Features

  • iLoop Smart Sensor: Detects dirt levels and visually displays them via an LED ring. The ring turns red in dirty areas and gradually shifts to blue as the surface becomes clean. In drying mode, it indicates moisture levels the same way.
  • Auto Mode: Automatically adjusts suction and solution output based on how dirty the carpet is.
  • Max Mode: Offers maximum suction and water flow for deep cleaning.
  • PowerDry Mode: Blows heated air (up to 75 °C / 167 °F) to accelerate drying as you push and pull the cleaner.
  • Accessory Mode: Engages only when the device is fully upright, allowing safe use with the accessory hose and nozzle.
  • Self-Cleaning Mode: Runs a 2-minute cleaning cycle followed by 5 minutes of heated air drying, keeping the roller brush and internal components clean and ready for the next use.

My Experience

I tested the Carpet One Cruiser in my mostly carpeted two-bedroom apartment over the past 2 weeks. Let’s start with cleaning performance — overall, I was genuinely impressed by how effectively it deep-cleaned the carpets. The difference was both visible and noticeable under my feet, making the carpet feel fresher and look noticeably cleaner. The dirty water tank after use clearly showed how much hidden dust and grime it pulled up.

Maneuverability took a bit of getting used to. On first use, the Cruiser felt quite heavy, especially when lifting it off the docking base. Luckily, the motorised wheels made a big difference. The device helps push itself forward and backward, which lightens the load considerably. Turning, however, was initially a little bit awkward. Because the wheels push with some force, it’s hard to simply twist the cleaner left or right with outstretched arms. I found that pulling the unit back toward me slightly before redirecting it worked best. Once I got used to this, it became more intuitive.

I preferred using the “low” assist setting for slower, more deliberate cleaning. But for larger areas or quicker jobs, the “medium” or “high” assist modes are very handy.

The self-cleaning feature worked exceptionally well. It thoroughly washed and dried the roller brush. The only manual task was occasionally removing tangled hair from the brush, which is typical for devices like this.

As for PowerDry mode, it definitely reduced the overall drying time. However, drying a single spot completely took a few minutes, and doing that across an entire room would take quite a while. I ended up doing a few slow passes over each area, which left the carpet significantly less damp. After cleaning other areas of the apartment and returning to the living room, the carpet was already much drier and comfortable to walk on.

This might not be the device I’d use for very simple day-to-day cleaning—my cordless vacuum is quicker for that. But for weekly or fortnightly deep cleans, or when tackling stubborn stains or spills, the Carpet One Cruiser truly does a fantastic job.
